Thames Water Utilities Ltd is more commonly known as Thames Water. Thames is the largest water supplier in the UK covering roughly 26% of the United Kingdom including areas such as Surrey, Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Kent, Greater London and other areas of the South East.
As well as othering drinking water to its customers, Thames Water also managers and treats 4,400,000,000 litres (4.4 billion) of wastewater every single day. The 27% of the market that Thames water supply, means they have over 15,000,000 (15 million customers).
What’s more impressive is the fact that Thames Water supplies over 2,600,000,000 litres (2.6 billion) of drinking water every single day. To put that in a more understandable description:
An Olympic sized swimming pool holds 2,500,000 litres (2.5 million) of water – Thames Water supply enough water to fill 1,040 Olympic swimming pools every single day.
An Average British fire engine holds 1,000 litres of water- This means that Thames could fill 2,600,000 (2.6 million) fire trucks every single day.
The standard bathtub can hold about 80 litres of water – If Thames was filling bath tubs they would be able to fill 32,500,000 (32.5 million) baths with all the water that they supply daily.
Based on the standard capacity of a bucket (15 litres) Thames Water supply enough water to fill 173,333,333 (173.33 million) buckets of water every day of the year.
